What’s the AC contactor?

1. The AC contactor is an automatic controller that uses electromagnetic suction to make and disconnect the circuit. It is mainly composed of an iron core, a coil, and a contact. The AC contactor controls the start and stop of the compressor.

2. Fault phenomenon: the press does not start and does not work

3. Detection method:

1. Detect the resistance of the coil winding to see if it is disconnected or short-circuited;
2. Use the ohm gear of the multimeter to detect the on-off status of the upper and lower contacts of the AC contactor. 
The resistance value of the upper and lower contacts should be infinite when the power is not turned on. If there is a resistance value, it indicates that the internal contacts are stuck;
3. Press the forced button on the surface of the AC contactor, and use a multimeter to measure the resistance of the upper and lower contacts. 
The resistance of each group should be zero under normal circumstances. 

If it is infinite or the resistance increases, it indicates that the internal contact surface may have Arc phenomenon. 
If the above three phenomena occur, the AC contactor should be replaced;

4. Notes:
For single-phase 3-horse air conditioners, the AC contactor is easily damaged when the voltage is unstable or the voltage drop during startup is large.
